Welcome to Day 11 in our 31 Day series on A Mom’s Guide to Getting it All Done. In case you missed yesterday’s post you may want to go and read it first. Or just jump in right here with us today.
Let’s get back to our priorities and responsibilities today. Remember the list we made? If you haven’t made one take some time this weekend to write down all of your responsibilities and sort them into the columns we talked about. Next, prioritize your list with 1 being the most important. Number each item and choose to spend your time on the most important things.
Did you learn anything from making your list? Are you doing some things that you could potentially get help with? Now, here is where I want to make a suggestion – what if we took our list, the one with all the things that we don’t necessarily need to do ourselves, and asked God to provide help for those things? Remember, only you can grow your relationship with God, be the wife to your husband, mom to your kids, answer the call of ministry on your life or use your gifts for your business/job, etc… But there are many things that you do that someone else possibly could do.
Help may come in the form of finances to pay for someone to help you or God may bring someone across your path who wants to help you in certain ways. Perhaps someone else in your family could cover some tasks? Look for the help and be willing to receive it when it comes.
Don’t forget that there are seasons of life and even if we identify something we don’t have to do ourselves, God may want us doing those things for this particular season of life. It all goes back to trusting Him and saying yes to Him first. He may be calling you to lay some things down in this season and accept help. OR He may have you wait on some things you’d like to do because He wants to teach you something through the waiting.
We are going to come back to this list again a couple of times throughout the rest of this series. We will talk about ways to get your kids involved in taking things off your plate in more detail too.
See you back here tomorrow for Day 12 in our A Mom’s Guide to Getting it All Done series. If you’d like to get the posts straight to your email inbox click here to sign up.
