I can only write posts like “Momma, You are Called to Greatness” because I’ve been the desperate mom who felt tired and overwhelmed. In fact, I still often struggle with feeling like this.
I think the important thing is what we do when we feel overwhelmed.
Overwhelmed
It’s a depressing sounding word isn’t it?
It reeks of things left undone, weightiness and being all encompassed by pressures.
But here is when it isn’t a depressing word: When all that overwhelms you is lying at the feet of Jesus.
This is what I have been a student of lately.
I feel the tightness in my chest of the overwhelming. I hear the thoughts that I am overwhelmed and I begin to repeat them but then I stop. That doesn’t sound like Truth. It sounds like a lie.
The Holy Spirit always sounds like Love. He IS love. Even His conviction is covered in love. He doesn’t come to tell you that you are overwhelmed because you should only ever be overwhelmed with Him.
So I take the depressing word and lay it at the feet of Jesus. And do you know what He does with overwhelmed?
He leaves me undone, takes off all heaviness and encompasses me with love.
He leads me to discover the greatness He has placed inside of me and gives me the power to rise up and overcome.
Overcome
Sounds like an encouraging word doesn’t it?
This is the kind of word that the Holy Spirit will speak to us.
It’s a word seeped in hope, it challenges me to rise up and encompasses me with power.

Kristen! I know I posted on another post this morning, but this word “OVERWHELM” is so rhema for so many! I wanted to share with you, in times of overwhelm I run to Psalms 142 & 143! The Bible uses the word “overwhelm!” David gives key strategy to get out of this terrible place!
