Welcome to Day 21 in our 31 Day series on A Mom’s Guide to Getting it All Done. In case you missed yesterday’s post you may want to go and read it first. Or just jump in right here with us today.
If you are anything like me you may feel lots of pressure each day to do all the things that you feel need to get done. Some of those pressures may be daily tasks. Some may be things that just come up that you weren’t prepared for and others may be tasks that you want to get to but you just haven’t been able accomplish yet. Often times the things of our dreams and callings fall into the later category.
Let’s keep this simple today with a reminder that pressures, just like being overwhelmed, are perceived. It is pressure that tends to throw us off track and keep us feeling like we aren’t being productive. So let’s turn our pressures into questions.
Let’s learn to get really good at asking the Holy Spirit if the pressure facing us is something we need to spend our time on.
We really and truly cannot get it all done. Well, at least not all at the same time. But we can be extremely wise by listening to the Holy Spirit about how we spend our time. I love how Ann Voskamp says that “Life is not an emergency.” We put that into practice by turning each perceived pressure into the question “Is this worth my time Lord?”
He gently leads those that have young. Isaiah 40:11b
What pressures are you facing today that you can turn into questions? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you throughout your day and to help you get done the truly important things that are on His heart for you.
