Welcome to Day 5 in our 31 Day series on A Mom’s Guide to Getting it All Done. In case you missed yesterday’s post you may want to go and read it first. Or just jump in right here with us today.
Do you know your “Why?” Often the greatest hindrance to our productivity and keeping ourselves from distraction is as simple as knowing the “why” of our lives. We were created to bring God glory and we do that by accepting ourselves as He made us (weaknesses and all) and doing the things He has called us to do.
I want us to spend a couple days on our “Why” before we get back to our priority list (have you made yours yet?). So, let’s keep it simple today. Spend a few moments asking God what your “why” is in all the areas of your life that you are responsible for. There are no wrong answers here. Ask God for fresh vision, maybe even revisit vision and answers He has given you before. Here are some questions to get you thinking:
Father God, what have you called me to in life?
Why am I the mother that my children needed?
Will you give me vision for my marriage? What is our purpose together?
What ways would you have me minister and be a light?
What is the vision you have for my business?
I bet you will see similar themes running through these answers as you ask them and get the answers. Don’t skip this! It can feel odd to take time to think about ourselves and get to know ourselves but it isn’t selfish at all. You will be a better you when you learn to love who God made you to be and walk through life with vision that keeps you on the right course.
I’m praying for you right now that God would flood your heart with light and speak truth to your heart. I pray that He will answer your prayer for fresh vision.
Tomorrow let’s chat a little more about knowing ourselves and our “whys.”
