When you hold in your hands all that you are and you hold it with the tightest grasp because you are not her, the more beautiful, more talented, more godly one, well that is your choice to make. But you hold all the delicate beauty and a life lived deeply, fully, and you close it off to what could be. This life needs air to breath but it is suffocated by hands that hold it tightly attempting to squash it in the shape of someone else.
Sometimes we beat our own beautiful life up over not being better, farther in the journey or just more beautiful than we are right now. We beat our own selves up in rejection of who we are and how we are made.
I will praise you for the way I’m made {Psalm 139:14}.
She can never be who you were meant to be and you have not walked the path to get her where she is. So live your life deeply, beautifully. Praise God for who you are {weaknesses and all}. This is pure worship. To accept who He created you to be and allow that life to breath, to grow, to take root and also to fly. There are no limits to what He can do with a life that is lived in complete submission to how it was created to be.
So look at her and admire the beauty, the amazing person that she was created to be, but don’t compare. Don’t squash your life in your hands trying to shape yourself differently. No, just simply praise. Praise Him for the ways she’s made & praise Him deeply for the way YOU are made.
