You know how you have the best of intentions and, well, life gets in the way? That would be me right now {raising my hand and waving it high}. This space? I love it. I love you and I miss being here like crazy.
I’m hoping to show my face a bit more now but also saying that with a bit of hesitation because…all the things.
You know, the things that happen and have you a bit off track from where you thought you would be? They’re all good, mostly, but still…
I had a lovely but FULL Summer. I continued to have improved health and it was as if all that rest I needed when I wasn’t feeling well was for a new season of not having much time to stop.
Over the Summer we – launched a new company, traveled to Florida, got a home ready to list for sale, hosted company, planned for and held The Declare Conference, ran an online book study for a women’s ministry, began meeting with a new mentor, started a local small group for Brave Moms, went on a trip to NYC just my oldest daughter and I, and, of course, did all the things for back to school preparation.
I feel a little breathless reading that list back. Normally I would look at that list and think that I absolutely need to cut things out. Especially since I didn’t even mention all of the house work or parenting moments or marriage stuffs that came up and needed work. However, this time, when I spoke to God about how full my plate was and how breathless I felt He said something very different than I ever thought He would.
I heard Him say “I am taking you into a new season and preparing you for things to come. I want you to trust me. Don’t take things off your plate… Just press hard into me to be your strength in the midst of all that is going on in your life.”
Hmmm…Ok.
And press hard into Him I have. And He’s been meeting me, speaking to me and directing my steps.
I look back at just 7 months ago and remember how incredibly ill I was and I am so grateful that my God could redeem that time and have me in a new season of flying. I have felt so very good and, while I am exercising and drinking shakeology which really do help, I know that I am living out a miracle.
All of this doing and becoming has had me thinking about all that it takes to be a mom, a wife, in ministry, run a blog…All the Things and do them well. So, I am excited to tell you that I will be starting a 31 day series in October (yes, I will actually blog for a whole 31 days!) about how to be a mom and accomplish all that we are called to. I have so many thoughts on this that I cannot wait to share with you! It may not be exactly what you think it will but I promise it will help you in your journey if you are attempting to do all the things and just need to know how to do it all well.
Would you help me think of a name for the series. I was thinking something along the lines of “How to Do it All.” Or “A Moms Guide to Getting it All Done.” Thoughts?
Thanks friends!

LOVE this. I’ve been asking God lately about the tasks on my plate, sometimes even hoping He will tell me to take a few things off. But I’m hearing something similar in a few different areas of my life (not all). Press into Me. Such a timely reminder, thanks Kristin!

Hi Jen, it always amazes me how I see the Holy Spirit working in similar fashion in different lives. It often seems like confirmation that I am truly hearing from Him. Grateful that we get to learn these lessons side by side. Blessings, Kristin

31 Days to Getting it All Done
Looking forward to your series.

Thank you Debi! Will you be doing a 31 day series this year?

i think i prefer “a moms guide to getting it all done,” or what about “accomplishing all the mom things…” excited for October for many reasons, but will be following along for sure.

Title suggestion, “Just press hard into ME to be your strength”

That should be our theme every day. Right?! Thank you!
