Just like we want to be seen, understood and appreciated, our children also want to be seen. We get to be the ones in their lives that teach them about how God sees them and loves them.
This makes me wonder, do I really see my kids? Do I acknowledge their feelings, teach them truth and love on them with words? Do I share with them what God’s Word says about them and have them ponder how active He is in their lives?
It is so easy to go through the day and see all of what is going wrong and point those things out. It’s too easy to lay my head down at night having corrected a million little actions without noticing the amazing way my kids are made, how they think and their good choices.
We have the opportunity to be the greatest encouragers and influencers in our children’s lives. We need to really see them in the midst of our day and call out what God has put in them.
Ask God to give you eyes to see your children as He sees them. Ask Him to show you their giftings and to give you wisdom on how to help them live up to their full potential. Take time to really see them today.
